(words and music by Brian Paul Di Giuseppe)
chords: (B/E/F#/E/B)x2 {chorus: F#/B/C#/B/F#}x2
eye close my eyes and eye see more
through another kind of door
still I’m travelling right along – slightly different than before
a little fait somewhat escaped – still I’m happy at the gate
still I’m singing my own song – slightly better at the play
{though - eye do excite – eye stay true and eye stay kind}
{still I’m travelling right along}
{with this dream eye have in mind}
{oh to love - with such a flare – still relaxed and so aware}
{still I’m singing my own song – as eye belong to such a care}
waking up again – as if to get another chance
still I’m travelling right along as if to know love’s endless end
happy to arise – as if eye won the greatest prize
still I’m singing my own song – with better co-creative eyes
{though - I’ll leave again – eye know this love will never end}
{still I’m travelling right along}
{as though eye never lost a friend}
{oh to love - with such a one – sharing beauty, skill and fun}
{still I’m singing my own song - still I’m travelling right along}
{still I’m singing my own song - still I’m travelling right along}
now to carry on with grace – and a smile for every face
as I’m travelling right along – with a gratitude of space
like I’m riding on the wind – ready as I’ve ever been
as I’m singing my own song – to be one with all my kin
(as I’m singing my own song – to be one with all my kin)x2

3.down by the river
(words and music by BrianPaul Di Giuseppe)
Chords: A/D/A D/A/D/A/E
Instrumental…
down by the river - we take a song to give her
let it go - let it flow like the waters
that show
- just how the moment delivers
we can know we're with her - oh the changing river
by the way that we also play
to and from the great ocean that hithers
{and she's always cha---nging}
{she's always cha---nging names
} x2
Instrumental…
when we feel the river - it's like a new life giver
keeping on with a motion strong
full of grace - it's such a fine forgiver
oh the changing river - getting small and bigger
moves along like a joyful song
or a dance that can romance a liver

(words and music by Brian Paul Di Giuseppe)
chords: D/G/D/G/D – [bridge:Am/G/D - A/G/D] {chorus}…
I'm just sitting here pondering
words that got me wondering
how that eye might clarify - something unresolved
words like credibility - health, responsibility,
sharing, caring, fair, integrity systematic love -& paradox - I am
less and less confused I am - by how others say they can
teach and learn by what they think and say and do
I am less confused…
more and more sure I am
my thoughts and words and deeds they can
make amends and kindness send - I am more amused - I am
[there's a view from the black - and - a view from the white]
[there's a view from the body - and a view - from the mind]
{C/Em/Am/G/D(x4) C/Em/Am/G/A}
{how about the middle way hOme}x5 {ho---me}x2
eye sure got more work to do
I'm perfect but eye could improve
you know how it is, you got it too, don't we all
each in our own way- uniquely and the same
[there's a view from the stillness - and - a view from the flight]
[there's a view from the blind - and a view - from the sight]

6. masquerade
(music and words byBrian Paul D.G.
with beauty additions by Anand)
chords: interlude (C/Dm/Em/Dm/C/Dm/C)x2
C/F/G/C – Dm/Em/F/C – (Dm/F/G/C)x2
“songs of experience lost
songs of innocence regained
come step pirouette roulette
at our masquerade parade”-Anand
eye wish eye was just making this all up like lemonade
some people try to squeeze you if your not in their parade
& you may be better with a lawful letter with those mischievous ways
or a caring word, or just a bow, that can better play
in that meaningful masquerade
and your likely to show up for some
like a ghost that just won’t fade
softening those stone cold hearts with a little touch of grace
no matter how we sing or run for our imagined escapes
we’ve all gotta solve the conundrum of - this here masquerade
children can have tantrums, it may be likely
they can be quite healing, if we can hold some space
here and there there’s something - we can do or say
or not, as we get a little caught up
with a medicinal masquerade
kindness is behind us as we forward any plays
only wise compassion - will let us truly change
simply just remembering the source of all that is made
has us all befriending here beyond this meaningful masquerade
please don’t let the bullies scare you with their tricky names
they can only make their harvest if we are afraid
they will either die or change if we do not play
in those relatively entertaining, meaningful masquerades
stepping stones and whirling tones as just another phase
what was once a clarity can turn into a craze
and a hazy mind can see the labyrinth as a maze
but it’s just another awesomely made up
meaningful masquerade
cultivating beauty and awareness in the way
being here as fellow students within these schooling days
realizing infinite potential has us play
here within and certainly beyond these meaningful masquerades
great attitude within us all never hesitates
to face the transformation of the fear and greed and hate
with love and boundless beauty in every plan that’s made
constantly offering this fait – differently the same
with every masquerade
being sure to give our thanks for these dynamic ways
feeling gratitude for all the beauty and the grace
ready to continue in the co-creative play
of the magnificent meditative all ways evolving
meaningful masquerade

7. the ballad of the singing pirate
(new words by Bruce Stephenson to the traditional tune of ‘amazing grace’)
chords: D/G/D - D/A - D/G/D - D/A/D
the right of kings they called divine to own and rule all land
meant every farmer was consigned to war at their command
the power of popes to steal the land with fire, stake and sword from those who made an honest stand
they claimed came from their lord
and so bold men took to the sea to live outside false laws
that kept all those who would be free
enslaved for unjust cause
{amazing grace how sweet the sound}
{that saved a soul like me}
{eye once was lost but now I’m found}
{was blind but now I see}
and one of these proud privateers was forced by circumstance
to transport slaves for many years to keep his ship financed
but then this pirate had a dream that showed him he must free
his human cargo from the scheme of worldly tyranny
{chorus}
though actions speak more truth than words
this man composed a song to voice the vision that occurred
to help him right the wrong
‘john newton is my christian nameI sailed the seven seas
my heart in darkness was aflame till cooled by heaven’s breeze”
{chorus}
“amazing music of the spheres has opened up my heart
so light within now reappears that was there from the start
“my mother taught me how to sing I chose a pirate song
but music helped great spirit bring
my soul through worlds of wrong”
{chorus}

12. to drink a cup of cheer
(words by Bruce Stephenson, music by Brian Paul D.G. and Friends!)
chords: (G/C/Dm/G)x2 Gm/Dm/F/Am/F/C/G
Back at the Old Inn table/ Once again/ In Winter City/Anywhere in Canada,/ To drink a cup of cheer,/ I take my pen in hand/ As if it were a fiddle bow/ I often play/ In silences of heart/ And noises of the mind/
To plumb there for an elusive sense/ Of mystical attunement/
Through some tangibility/ Of word or sound.
MY MIND CHURNS THROUGH/ ITS SNAPSHOT IMAGES/
AND I REMEMBER/ STROLLING DOWN AN AVENUE/
OF THEATRES AND CAFES/ LATE LAST AUTUMN.
SUDDENLY I'D FELT/ LIKE DUCKING INTO LIBRARIE L'ESOTERIQUE/ A MONTREAL/WHERE I PICKED A BOOK/ AS IF IT WERE A TAROT/ FROM A DECK CONTAINING HALF A MILLION CARDS./
STARK SCENES OF EARTHQUAKES FLICKERED/
IN A HALL OF MIRRORS./ CITIES WHERE I KNEW GOOD PEOPLE/
SHOOK APART/ WHILE RIVERS LEAPED THEIR BANKS./
A CITY BY THE SEA/ SANK LIKE A DREAM OF DUST/
AS TIDAL WAVES RUSHED IN/ TO FILL THE SHATTERED SPACE.
My cup of herb tea/ Warms my blood with spice/As memories flicker/
And a yearning in my heart/ Is fire leaping through/ The cooling coils/
Of my all too mathematic mind. My bones are aching/
Like the leafless limbs/ That reach out of the desolated earth/
To plead for yet another spring./The skeleton of Destiny/
is robed in razor ice mandalas/
Dancing on the crests of moon dust/ While cold light glances/
Off his silver blades./ And ancient devils whisper/ At my back:/
"Beware of fatal mirrors./All who would be holy/
First/Must meet us on the killing ground."/
And still my pen is moving/ On the silent page/
That shimmers like a sea/ Amidst the solid spaces./
Here within me faint beginnings/ Of my real voice/
Audition phrasings/ Of some higher truth./
The love of God shall pierce me/ Through these wounds of Fate./
I feel my fellows/ All around me/ Lighting up the space/ With hearts
like candle lanterns/ Glowing in the dark./ I feel Christ radiant/
In the midst of winter,/Singing at the heart/ Of every one of us.

18. clear light and clouds
(words by Brian Paul Di Giuseppe)
in the mirrors of limiting and limited views
I am liberated in remembering
that all that exists like this
is a free play
of relatively real mirages
all infinitely beautiful
and ultimately impermanent
like clear light and clouds
however, that being said
it is the totally committed
that manifest
such revelation
everyone plays an essential part
in the art of the heart
beyond parts
and so,
reverence and thanks
is in order for all
